Anastasiia Starova

Writer
I’m an early career writer with a growing portfolio of fiction in development. I tend to write about gloomy stuff -- grief, mortality, dysfunctional families -- with humour, frankness, and a female gaze. Like everyone who came before us, we live in volatile times, and the best way to make sense of this experience is to tell stories that shine through the darkness.

I enjoy working in a variety of mediums, but TV writing is my happy place. I love to learn from fellow writers, and I thrive in collaborations where ideas are both challenged and given room to grow and evolve.

Originally from Izmail, Ukraine, I now live in Toronto. I’m a member of BAFTA connect and the Producers' Guild of America. Formerly a journalist and a visual effects coordinator and currently working as a Senior Project Manager in the 3D motion design field.

If you are looking for a writer, writing partner, story editor, or just a conversation -- I’d love to chat! Send me a note, and I promise to tell you a funny story about how I met Al Pacino 👀️
